A woman in her mid-20s has been hospitalised after suffering serious injuries at her Napier home on Saturday afternoon.
The woman was reportedly left alone with stab wounds at her address on Kelvin Rd in Maraenui, Napier.
She has since been taken to hospital, where she is being treated for her injuries and had to undergo surgery.
The woman's condition post-surgery is not yet known.
Police are currently carrying out enquiries and a scene examination at the property in which the woman suffered her injuries.
Police are yet to make any arrests, and are seeking those with information on the incident to contact the Hawke's Bay police, or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
