A woman has died after being hit by a car in Christchurch.
Police say they were called to Tunnel Rd in Ferrymead at 10:10pm on Saturday.
The woman had been struck by a vehicle and died at the scene.
Police are working to identify her body and notify next-of-kin. They're also trying to establish why she was on the road.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
