Police are investigating an alleged attack by three men on a 16-year-old girl near a south Auckland park.
Two men attempted to grab the girl as she was walking along Coxhead Rd between Kohiwi Rd and O'Connell St in Manurewa between 5:45pm and 6:30pm on Monday night, police say.
The girl said she noticed the three men sitting in a car before the attack.
She managed to get away from them but was left covered with scratch marks.
"This would have been a very frightening situation for the victim and police are currently in the process of making enquiries into this incident," a police spokesperson said.
Police have been canvassing the area for CCTV footage and are speaking with neighbours.
