Amazing footage captures Auckland port worker catching fish through drain hole

  • 04/06/2018

A worker at Ports of Auckland appears to have scored a lucky catch after throwing a fishing line down a drain hole.

Footage posted on Facebook shows the man dangling the line down the hole for just a few of minutes before he gets a bite and reels a snapper in.

His Kiwi ingenuity was well rewarded, with the fish caught on camera joining another that was already in his bucket.

"Oh yeah, f***in' dinner!" the man filming the video can be heard exclaiming, before making plans to transfer the fish to his chilly bin.

The video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

Many Facebook users have lamented that their workplaces aren't as suitable to lunch break fishing.
