A body has been found on a Woodend property where a homicide investigation was launched on Thursday.
Police announced a body had been found and a homicide investigation had been launched on Thursday evening, but admitted on Saturday there was not actually a body.
There was evidence of a "very serious assault".

A Newshub camera operator saw a hearse arrive at the rural Christchurch address on Saturday afternoon.
Police later confirmed a body had been found at the address.
