A body has been found on a property in rural Christchurch.
Police have begun a homicide investigation into the death.
The body was found on Thursday at a property in Woodend, in the Waimakariri District.
Police say there is no risk to the public in the wake of their discovery.
Christchurch, or the 'Canterbury Metro' area, is the region with the most murders in New Zealand. There were 13 murders in the region between 2013 and 2015.
