Crash causes cancellations on Auckland's western train line

A crash has disrupted Auckland train services after power lines were brought down.

A truck hit the powerlines at the intersection of Boston Rd and Normanby Rd in Mt Eden at around 1:45pm on Friday.

Police say trains have been stopped until further notice.

Auckland Transport is warning passengers wanting to use the western line between Swanson and Newmarket to consider alternative modes of transport.

The line will remain closed for the afternoon as it is expected to take several hours to fix the powerlines.

An Auckland Transport spokesperson told Newshub replacement bus services will be rolled out to for passengers affected by the cancellation.

No injuries have been reported.
