Most staff don't believe their workplace has a diverse culture.

Research by Randstad has found a gap between what employees and employers consider an inclusive culture.

Only 46 percent of those surveyed said they believed New Zealand businesses have an inclusive and diverse culture.

Spokesperson Katherine Swan told Newshub more action is needed.

"Less than one in every two employees across New Zealand businesses believe that business has successfully developed a diverse and inclusive culture," she said.

Fifty-three percent of workers said employers needed to provide clearer channels for communication and feedback on diversity and inclusion related issues.

Ms Swan says employers need to change, as diversity is a growing draw card for potential employees.
