A teenager who allegedly fled the scene of a serious crash in Auckland will appear in court this week.
Six people were inside and perched on the back of a ute which was doing donuts in Rothesay Bay before it rolled on Saturday, in addition to the driver.
Police say the 18-year-old driver has been charged with dangerous driving causing injury, and could face further charges.
"This group has made some bad decisions which have been irresponsible and reckless, and as result seven people have been injured - one very seriously," said Insp Sundip Patel.
"I cannot emphasise enough the need to not take risks with lives when driving, and ensure others are not put in danger."
