Police have arrested a 38-year-old man after he escaped while in custody at Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt shortly after 10am on Monday.
The man was located at a Featherston address on Friday night. Police say he was arrested without incident.
He has returned to prison and will be charged with escaping custody.
Police have thanked the public for their help in locating the man.
