High profile Kiwi personality in court on assault charges

A high profile New Zealand media personality has pleaded not guilty to assault with a frying pan in the North Shore District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

The charge carries a maximum jail term of five years.

He pleaded not guilty to two other charges of assault in court.

The incidents allegedly happened on three separate occasions between May and September last year.

Details of the case are heavily suppressed because a judge decided the man's occupation means he would be caused "extreme hardship" were his identity to be published.
