Counties Manukau Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 17-year-old girl at an Auckland property.

The teenager's body was discovered at an address on Buckland Rd in Māngere over the weekend, Detective Inspector Tofilau Faa Vaaelua said.

The house was occupied by X Factor NZ star Ashley Tonga up until a week ago. She was not living at the house when the body was found.

The reality TV star posted on Facebook on Monday urging people to stop asking her about it, and to ring police if they want any further information.
