A large two-storey flat is on fire in the Lower Hutt suburb of Waiwhetu.
Three fire crews are currently at the scene of the blaze on Douglas St working to put it out.
A fire spokesperson said it was "well involved" when emergency services arrived at the scene at about 3:45pm on Tuesday.
There have not yet been any reports of injuries.
