Man arrested after Greymouth fire

A 55-year-old man has been arrested after a fire in Greymouth last month.

He has been charged with burglary and arson following the blaze on Tainui St in a large building that housed the Priya Restaurant.

It took up to 60 firefighters to put out the fire.

The man is due to appear in the Greymouth District Court on Wednesday.

Police have thanked members of the public and the victims for their assistance with the investigation.
