Police are investigating the death of a man fatally stabbed in Greymouth, South Island.
The man was found Monday morning at around 2am on Coepwer Street with critical injuries.
He died shortly after in Greymouth Hospital.
Detective Senior Sergeant Jacqui Corner, area investigations manger, said police are in the process of notifying next of kin, therefore no information is available regarding the victim yet.
Police are currently speaking to a person of interest and do not believe there is any risk to the public.
No charges have been laid at this time.
