Taradale dairy target of aggravated robbery

Police are appealing for information from the public after an aggravated robbery in Taradale, Napier on Sunday night.

Four people entered the Bellvue Dairy on Gloucester St at around 7pm armed with knives, metal bars and a hockey stick, Detective Mike Signal says. They were heavily disguised and stole a substantial amount of cigarettes and tobacco.

The perpetrators are described as aged 18 to 25. Det Signal says they fled the scene in an older model red Ford Falcon, driving south toward EIT.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on (06) 831 0700 and ask for Detective Sergeant Craig Vining or Detective Hamish Urquhart. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
