Three more face manslaughter charges over Mitchell Paterson homicide

Police have charged three more people with manslaughter over the death of Ngaruawahia man Mitchell Paterson.

Mr Paterson was found dead under the McLaren Falls Bridge near Tauranga on July 13.

He died after injuries from a physical assault.

The three men, aged 33, 34, 49 have been charged with being party to manslaughter.

Waikato District manager of criminal investigations Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley said the 33-year-old and the 49-year-old are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court today.

The 34-year-old man appeared in court on Wednesday and is due to reappear on August 7.

The further arrests come after a 36-year-old man appeared in court charged with kidnapping and murdering Mr Paterson.

A 27-year-old man accused of helping dispose Mr Paterson's body is charged with being an accessory after the fact.

The Operation Conga team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Paterson's death.
