The driver of a truck that rolled near Hampton Downs, blocking two southbound lanes on State Highway 1, has sustained injuries in the crash.
Police say the injuries are minor to moderate.
A crane is now required to remove the truck, and police say that means the road will be closed for some time longer.
The interchange lanes one kilometre south of Hampton Downs are blocked, and the crash is causing delays in both directions.
NZTA is advising drivers to avoid the area if possible or consider exiting at Hampton Downs and using Whangamarino Rd to head south.
Emergency services are at the scene.
Police have thanked drivers affected by the incident for their patience.
