An Ashburton primary school's collection of Chromebook computers has been stolen.

The break-in at Hinds Primary School on Reeds St happened sometime in mid-July. Seventeen computers were taken.

Chromebooks are low-powered laptops which run on Google's Chrome OS, instead of the usual Windows.

Anyone with information about the burglary or sees suspicious Chromebooks for sale should call police on (03) 307 8400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
