A man is recovering after reportedly being shot outside Taranaki Base Hospital.
Police are looking for several men after an altercation in the hospital carpark on Wednesday around 9:35pm. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots.
One man is being treated for leg injuries at the hospital.
Police say there is no risk to the public and the hospital is operating as normal.
"At this stage we believe the parties are known to each other," said Snr Sgt Jeff Veale.
