Man arrested after machete attack in Auckland's Stanmore Bay

A man has been arrested after a machete attack in Auckland's Stanmore Bay on Wednesday night.

Police were called to a home on John Road just before midnight after a 31-year-old victim was hit across the head with the weapon.

A 48-year-old man will appear in North Shore District Court on Thursday morning charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police say the injured man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
