Hundreds of people are set to attend a 'Rally Against Racism' event this Friday to protest far-right Canadian speakers Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux as they visit Auckland.

The pair are due to speak at an event at an as yet undisclosed location on Friday evening.

A peaceful protest will kick off in Aotea Square and then move to the speaking venue, as described in a Facebook event set up by 10 different activist groups.

"Join us to rally against racism and hate, and to stand up against fascism and to celebrate the power and strength of diversity and tolerance," the event reads.

"Across the globe, the politics of hate and division are on the rise. We need to stand together to resist these vile and damaging ideas and toxic people, and to protect vulnerable communities from hate attacks and racist violence."

Another protest, run by the Migrant Workers Association NZ and the Pacific Panthers, has promised it will do "something unusual" so that "racist speakers will not be able to deliver the hatred speeches".

Tickets for the Southern-Molyneux event are being sold for $99 by promoter Axiomatic, and those who have purchased tickets will only be told about the location 24 hours before the event.

The promoter is also selling tickets to an 'intimate dinner function' with the two speakers before the event, for the price of $749.

The pair were granted a 10-day working visa by Immigration New Zealand for public speaking purposes.
