One person is dead after a serious crash in Whāngārei after two vehicles collided on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the accident on Whareora Rd at about 3pm.
"It is not yet clear how many people were in the vehicles or the extent of any injuries," a police spokesperson says.
"The road is blocked and diversions are being put in place."
