Friends and family of female boxer Lucy Brown are hoping for a miracle after she fell unconscious during a routine training session last Saturday.

Ms Brown was training at Centennial Park with Wellsford Boxing Sport & Fitness Club.

Stuff reported when she got out of the ring she had a drink of water and collapsed, she was then flown to Auckland Hospital.

Flocking to Facebook to offer thoughts and blessings, one user posted "doctors say there is no brain activity from concussion but we must press [on] and believe for a miracle."

Ms Brown is married with two children.

To help with travel and medical costs, a Go Fund Me page has been set up.

Ms Brown was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2011 while in her 20s.

She told The Townsville Bulletin it was that experience that made her look at life in a new way.

"When I beat it, I starting feeling really different. I guess it helped me get into boxing, because it's very confronting."

Following this she joined Townsville's Cranbrook's fighting Gym to help her lose weight, and with the help of her at the time boxing trainer she shed down from 120kg to 60kg.

Cranbrook's is the gym that is home to boxers Mark Manning Flanagan and now retired Josh King.

The Townsville Bulletin reports that she didn't initially want to get in the ring but decided in 2014 to start boxing seriously for a charity match that was raising money for cancer research.

The 30-year-old boxer had only recently moved back to New Zealand from Australia.

Stuff reported that all female boxers were wearing protective gear during the training.
