A crash involving a car and a truck has closed State Highway 1 on the Brynderwyn Hills.
The crash happened just after 6:30am on Tuesday on the road between Auckland and Whangarei near Waipu.
Two people suffered minor injuries in the crash and have been taken to Whangarei Hospital for treatment.
The road will stay closed in both directions for the next couple of hours while towing equipment is brought in to remove the wreckage.
Motorists have been asked to delay their travel and take a different route if necessary. The Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Rd is available as a diversion if necessary.
