Police have laid charges against a 24-year-old woman after the death of toddler Comfort Joy Witeri-Thompson.
The 18-month-old died in Waikato Hospital on July 24th following an incident at a Tirau address.
The woman's charges are in relation to offending against Comfort, but not in relation to her death, police say.
She appeared in the Rotorua District Court on Friday morning.
Further charges are likely to be laid as police continue to investigate Comfort's death.
