A 20-year-old woman is in a serious condition after being stabbed at a marae.
Emergency services were called to Moteo Marae Rd, near Puketapu, when a fight broke out just after 10pm on Saturday night.
The woman was rushed to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a critical condition and is now in a serious but stable condition.
Two men were also taken to hospital following the incident.
Police say gunshots were fired, but no one was injured as a result of them.
Investigations are underway and those involved are believed to know each other.
