How big of an issue is hearing loss in in New Zealand?

Social and economic costs from workplace noise are estimated between $650 million - $1.3 billion per annum. 

Why so high you might ask? 

Well, one in four Kiwis are exposed to loud noises for a quarter of the their work day. 

This week WorkSafe is launching a set of tools for both employers and workers to use to manage noise in the workplace.

WorkSafe New Zealand CEO Nicole Rosie spoke to Duncan Garner.
