Lotto's first division split between 40 people

Wednesday's Lotto prize will be split 40 ways after dozens of people saw their numbers drawn.

Two split the main Powerball jackpot prize of $2.5 million each, while 38 will split the first division prize and take home $25,000 each.

The two large prizes were sold in Hastings and Christchurch. The other 38 were across the country, including Whangarei, Waihi, Stratford, Roxburgh and Milton.

Pak'nSave Te Awamutu sold two winning tickets.

The winning numbers were 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. The Bonus ball was 36 and Powerball was 7.

It's largest number of players to win Lotto's first division in a single draw since the game began in 1987.
