Police say it's lucky the injuries in a multi-car crash in Wiri overnight weren't more serious.
The crash happened just after 10pm on Roscommon Rd at the State Highway 20 off-ramp, and was caused by a drunk driver who drove his car into a van, police said.
"We believe the van has, as a result of the initial collision, caused the van to roll over the top of two other cars and come to a rest back on its wheels," said Acting Sgt Jeremy Popping.
"The two cars it rolled over [were] stopped at the traffic lights… Slow down, and don't drink and drive."
At least four people had minor injuries. One person with serious injuries was treated at the scene.
"The injuries are serious but not life-threatening," said Acting Sgt Popping.
Traffic lights at the scene were also knocked out.
