A bus was stopped in Wellington central this morning by armed police searching for a male in relation to a robbery earlier in the morning.
Working off information that the offender may have had a weapon and may be on the bus, armed police were deployed.
Police said they spoke to a passenger on the bus, and confirmed they were not the person being pursued.
The incident was explained to all passengers and the bus was shortly back on its route.
They said anyone on the Wellington Central bus this morning can contact police if they wish to be put in touch with victim support.
