A man has died at a beach in Pihama, Taranaki this evening.
Emergency services were called to the beach near Puketapu road around 4:30pm on Tuesday afternoon, following reports that a diver was unconscious on the shore.
Police believe that the man was shore diving in the area with another man when he "got into trouble".
The second man involved is uninjured, and is being supported.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
