Man dies at Whangarei motor camp of suspected stabbing

A man has died at a motor camp in Whangarei after apparently being stabbed.

Police say he arrived at the Otaika Motor Camp with critical chest injuries at about 12:30am on Sunday.

"Despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene," said Det Insp Dene Begbie.

A homicide investigation has been launched. A post-mortem will be carried out to find out the exact cause of death.

A forensic scene examination is underway.
