A New Zealand man shot by a mother after he allegedly tried to break and enter her home to see her 14-year-old daughter will now face federal charges in the US.
Troy Skinner was arrested in June after he flew to the small town of Goochland, Virginia, to meet the teenager with whom he chatted online.

Her mother shot him in the neck while he was trying to get inside the house, according to Sheriff James Agnew.
Mr Agnew said the daughter had attempted to break off communication with Mr Skinner prior to the incident.
"He was not invited here, he was not expected here, he had been told in the past that the daughter no longer wished to communicate with him," he said.
Skinner appeared in the Goochland District Court on Tuesday morning (NZ time), where his state charges were set aside.
He will be handed over to the FBI, who charged him with production of child pornography and coercion and enticement in relation to the June incident.
