Two Barfoot & Thompson real estate agents are trying a new advertising ploy, taking to people's recycling bins to get their message out.
Matt O'Brien and Chris Casares' flyers, which are stuck to the inside of a recycling bin, show a bin full with champagne bottles.
"The house we just sold down the road has champagne bottles in their recycling bin," the ad reads.
"When you want top dollar for your home call Matt O'Brien or Chris Casares."
One social media user has reacted strongly to finding her recycling bin with a flyer stuck to it.
"can't believe I have to say this but AUCKLAND REALTORS STAY OUT OF MY BIN!!!!!!" Twitter user @k_tieparker posted.
Barfoot & Thompson have since stopped distributing the advertisements, with managing director Peter Thompson telling Fairfax it was a "step too far".
