Wellington artist Rob McLeod is taking his work to New York City this month, with an exhibition on in Brooklyn through October featuring his work.

Mr McLeod says his works, on display at Room in Greenpoint in the New York borough of Brooklyn, are a collection of cartoons from his childhood and characters he has developed over the years.

"The current show is a collection of small works from the past six years, they are [made from] oil and enamel on ply," Mr McLeod said.

The sculptural paintings include Mickey and Minnie Mouse, as well as characters developed from Mr McLeod's own oeuvre.

It's Mr McLeod's second venture into New York with his art, having been to the city first in 2016.
