A body has been found in a Northland river after what police are describing as a boating incident.
The 65-year-old man died suddenly on Wednesday morning, Senior Sergeant Steve Dickson said in a statement to media.
Northland Police are unable to identify the man until his family has been notified.
They are now investigating the incident, which police say took place on Ruawai River near Dargaville.
The death has been reported to the Coroner, and a post-mortem examination will be held to determine the cause of death.
