Missing six-year-old from Manukau found

The six-year-old boy who went missing on Thursday night has been found.

Police have confirmed Walter Everitt was found safe and well on Friday morning after not being seen since 6:25pm on Thursday.

Det Snr Sgt Albie Alexander said he had been found at an address in the area and that the occupants had been unaware he was missing.

After noticing police activity in the area, the occupants approached police and realised Walter was the boy they had been searching for.

"This was a traumatic experience for his family and we're glad that it came to a happy and safe conclusion," said Det Snr Sgt Alexander. "We would like to thank members of the public for their help in this search".

Walter had gone missing from Silver Creek Rd, Weymouth, Manukau City.
