For most of the North Island, it'll feel a lot more like summer this week.
Warmer weather is expected heading into the weekend, with daytime highs on Wednesday and Thursday above average.
A slow-moving cold front will see westerlies kick back in allowing temperatures of more than 10degC to sweep across the inland in the South Island.

Weatherwatch.co.nz head forecaster Philip Duncan said there will be a cool change coming at some point - however daytime highs in the mid-20degCs are expected in both islands over the next few days.
"Parts of western and Central Otago, for example, will be in the low to mid 20degCs over the next day or two, but by Sunday the current forecast high for Queenstown is 12degC," he said.
High pressure and warm temperatures will be felt around the country until a front pushes over New Zealand later in the week.
Behind the front is southerly winds and a brief return to cooler temperatures.
Mr Duncan said Dunedin can expect 22degC on Thursday before dropping to 13degC on Friday, dipping again to 10 or 11degC next Monday.
On Thursday, Christchurch has a high of around 24degC and by Sunday it is 13degC, according to WeatherWatch.co.nz.
The North Island may cool down next week, especially in the east.
Napier is forecast to hover in the low to mid 20degCs over the next few days, however by next week may be struggling to climb above the low teens.
Experts say the area should also be on the lookout for rain, which at this early stage is expected.
