A south Auckland boy has responded to the American lemonade stand, with a $2 haka show.
Kauri Hetaraka, nine, started his Manurewa business in February, then took a break in winter, and is back for summer.
He wants to make his own money, he said.
"So I don't have to use my Mum's money and everyone else's money anymore."
His mother said he had also broadened his set list over the year.
"He's just started at Homai School and he's in a bilingual class up there so he's learned a few hakas," Jeralee-Jane Hetaraka said.
Business was brisk on Ruth Rd on Saturday where Kauri made $25.
"When I first did it I didn't think I was going to make any money at all but I actually started getting money," Kauri said.
Over the year he had learned better ways to manage his finances.
"I was spending it all on lollies but now I'm gonna save it up."
It all started with a bit of motivation at home, Ms Hetaraka said. She is very proud of her son and his business.
"It's pretty cool to see him embracing his culture and getting involved with our culture and traditions," she said.
Kauri will be performing every day before Christmas and plans to take it on the road when his whanau go away this summer.
"I'm going to take it just about where ever I go," Kauri said.
