A homicide investigation has been launched after the death of a man in Christchurch.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries at around 11pm on Saturday night, and later died.
"The identity of the man has yet to be confirmed and an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death," said police.
