A homicide inquiry has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Auckland overnight.
Police say they were called to an incident on William Blofield Ave in Mt Roskill around 11pm.
"We were told there was a fight occurring," said Insp Kerry Watson. "An ambulance arrived very soon after and unfortunately they located a man that was injured, and despite their best efforts were unable to revive that person."
Another person received serious injuries and is in hospital.
A number of people are helping police with their inquiries. Police want to hear from anyone with information on what went down.
"A homicide inquiry has been commenced," said Insp Watson. "It will take some time to find out what actually happened."
