One person has died following a car crash in Palmerston North.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Railway Road and Roberts Line shortly after 12:30pm on Friday.
Police have confirmed one person died at the scene. It brings the holiday road toll to two.
Four others were injured in the crash.
A St John spokesperson told Newshub two people are in a serious condition and two people are moderately injured. They have all been taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
Cordons are in place on Railway Road and Airport Drive and diversions are in place.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene.
