Mum killed, husband and kids injured in Invercargill horror crash

A mother was killed and her husband remains in a critical condition after a horrific crash in Invercargill.

Emma Joyce Bagley, 37, was driving a Kia station wagon on Friday evening. Her husband and two young children were passengers in the vehicle.

At about 9:10pm, their car collided with a Subaru hatchback at the intersection of Newcastle St and Clifton St. Ms Bagley died following the crash.

Her husband is in a critical but stable condition at Christchurch Hospital. The couple's two children suffered minor to moderate injuries in the crash and have been released from hospital.

The driver of the Subaru Impreza was also seriously injured and remains in Southland Hospital. The passenger of that vehicle has been discharged.

Police are interested in any sightings of the Subaru in the hours before Friday's fatal crash. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
