Two young people have been rushed to hospital after an explosion linked to huffing in south Auckland.
Emergency services were called to a block of flats on Clayton Ave in Otara at about 2.50am.
A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency told Newshub the explosion happened on the ground floor of a unit owned by Housing New Zealand.
"We're not sure the cause of the explosion at this stage, it's now a crime scene so police will be doing an investigation into that," senior station officer Brendon Irwin said.
One person is in a critical condition while the other has been seriously injured, police say.
The explosion blew a window out, but didn't cause damage to other units.
