Spark's sassy Facebook replies take mean commenters down a peg

Spark's social media manager is getting praise online after posting sassy responses to Grinches who don't like the company's Christmas promotion.

Clarke Gayford starred in an ad for the company, which spoofs a news show to promote their new naughty or nice metre feature.

But the video has been overtaken by commenters who don't see the fun in it and want to let the company know.

"Spark ad really, not a supporter of spark full stop," one commenter wrote.

"That's your prerogative... - have a lovely Christmas season," Spark replied.

"What's the point of this?" another person said.

"The point... is to add a little bit of fun and magic to the lives of Kiwi families over Christmas via a digital interaction with Santa himself. If you're not interested in participating, by all means don't watch the video or click the link - and have a wonderful festive season," Spark replied.

Most of the replies are written by somebody identifying themselves as Frith, who has been sassy to respondents on Facebook before.

Overall people seemed to like the video, it has received more than 1000 likes, 500 laughing reactions and 100 heart reacts.

Eight people used the angry react on the video.
