A Kiwi kid has left a heartwarming note to his neighbour after he accidentally lost his toy balls over the fence.

A Reddit user posted a photo of the "wholesome" handwritten note from Aucklander Reuben, saying a friend in Mt Albert had received it.

Reuben explained how a couple of his balls had got into his neighbour's yard, and asked if they could give them back.

"Hi there, there may be a couple of balls in your backyard would you mind throwing them over your back hedge, please (sic)," the note read.

"P.S there may also be a frisbee. Chocolates to say thanks. Reuben."

Reuben had given his neighbours a box of Roses chocolates in advance for their kind gesture.

The classic Kiwi post has been viewed more than 1000 times.

Of course, Reuben did get his balls back - but the Reddit user cheekily kept the frisbee.

"You need to give Whittaker's to get the frisbee back," they wrote.
