A couple from the UK have been accused of defecating and urinating all over a room they rented in Wellington in a dispute over the bond.

Wellington woman Izzy Duncan, who rented out her room to the couple, posted photos of the mess to the Vic Deals Facebook page which have since gone viral.

"Just a warning to everyone out there that this couple leased our room and had absolutely trashed it and stolen from us," Ms Duncan wrote.

"Overnight they etched abuse into the walls and defecated all over the room and pissed on my bed. They also stole an Apple TV box and scratched our tv screen. DO NOT RENT OUT A ROOM TO THEM!!"

Photos show a tipped over lunchbox with a brown liquidy substance pouring out, a broken door handle, items strewn around a bedroom and a bed soiled with a yellow liquid.

Other pictures show graffiti etched into the walls. One message reads "HAHA YOU FAT F**KS" while another says "We are from Manchester. We have money FATTYS."

A third piece of graffiti shows a penis with a wave pattern drawn over the top of it.

The Manchester woman accused of being involved in the mess told Newshub the allegations were not true.

"I'm pregnant and it's causing me distress because I did not do it, just because we didn't pay 5 days rent," she said.

"I don't know what sick person would wee and shit all over but I defiantly wouldn't! (sic)"

But the same woman appears to admit to making some of the mess in a comment on Ms Duncan's post.

"Probably a bad thing to leave a mess but we was desperate for the [bond] money and just thought it was unfair because we had valid reason."

Commenters on Facebook have chipped in with offers of help. One man offered to fix Ms Duncan's door while another set up a Givealittle page.

Police told Newshub they received a report on Monday of wilful damage and theft at a central Wellington address.

A spokesperson said they were investigating but no one has been arrested or charged at this stage.

Ms Duncan has been contacted for comment.
