Police have made an arrest after a homicide investigation was launched in Ōtara.
A 44-year old man has been charged with murder after a 62-year-old man was found dead on Sunday night.
Police were called to an Ōtara address last night at 6:50pm where they found the body.
They cordoned off a section of Ōtara Rd and several police vehicles were seen outside a property.
Police believe the victim and the offender were known to each other and are not seeking anyone else in relation to the alleged murder.
The accused is due to appear in court today.
