Police have found the body of a 94-year-old Canterbury fisherman Kenneth Kidd who went missing on Thursday.
A friend of Mr Kidd found his car near the Waiau River, near Lower Flat Rd, in Canterbury on Thursday morning, but he was not nearby.
His body was found at the river late on Thursday night. It's believed he was fishing.
Police have extended their sympathies to Mr Kidd's family. The death has been referred to the coroner.
